Black Mountain man faces manslaughter charge in fatal US 70 car crash

A Black Mountain man was charged Dec. 2 with involuntary manslaughter after highway patrol troopers say he sped 90 mph down U.S. 70, causing a fatal crash in Swannanoa, records show.

A North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper arrested Geordon Haggins, 23, on charges of involuntary manslaughter, driving while license revoked, reckless driving and purchasing a firearm in violation of a domestic violence order.
