A North Carolina man won nearly $1 million after playing the lottery “out of boredom.”
Matthew Shepherd of Burnsville decided to try the $5 digital instant on Nov. 26, and he ended up winning a $952,821 jackpot, according to a press release from the NC Education Lottery.
“I was just killing time out of boredom,” he told the organization. “When it stopped at the jackpot, I was like, ‘There’s no way.’ ”…
