North Carolina Mountains: Snow to Impact Monday Commute, Up to 3 Inches Expected

Boone, NC – The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of the North Carolina High Country, including Avery, Yancey, and Mitchell Counties, in effect from 1 a.m. Monday through 1 a.m. Tuesday, December 9.

Forecasters expect total snow accumulations up to 3 inches, with lighter amounts near valleys and heavier snow above 3,500 feet. The advisory includes the communities of Banner Elk, Newland, Burnsville, and Bakersville.
