Aniyah Beck is featured in the APR Innovators series by Asheville Parks & Recreation. The series highlights staff members who contribute to the community. Aniyah began working with APR in 2022 as a seasonal summer camp support staff member at the Linwood Crump Shiloh Community Center. She later worked with the teen leadership program, helped with skate nights, and supported other community programs. After graduating from college, she became a program leader at the Stephens-Lee Community Center, where she continued to serve Asheville residents.
Aniyah grew up in Asheville and recognizes the value of accessible recreation programs and safe parks. She works with children, teens, and seniors in various roles. Her goal is to help create positive experiences and connections for people in the city.
Through her work at APR, Aniyah has developed leadership, communication, and organizational skills. She manages different groups, adapts to new situations, and plans events.
