Asheville gem shop owner recovering from severe burns after rescuing animals

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The owner of Asheville’s Best Gem Mine is recovering in the hospital nearly two weeks after a fire left her with severe burns.

The fire broke out just before 10 a.m. on Nov. 28 at the business on Sardis Road. Investigators have ruled the cause accidental, News 13 previously reported.
