Drones, K9 assist Asheville Police in robbery arrest

Asheville Police arrested a man wanted for armed robbery in east Asheville last month.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Tunnel Road around 9:47 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, to investigate an armed robbery. Upon arrival, the victim told officers that a man approached him and asked for money while brandishing a firearm. The victim gave him $160 in cash from his wallet, after which the armed robber fled on foot.

The drone unit assisted officers in locating the armed robber, Christopher Calvin Robinson, in a nearby wooded area. Robinson was taken into custody with the help of K9 Macho. During the arrest, he was found to be in possession of narcotics, a firearm, and $160…
