Asheville police operation with other agencies results in 16 arrests on drug charges

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Following a weeks-long operation by the Asheville Police Department and other agencies, 16 people have been arrested on drug charges.

According to a Dec. 12 news release, police detectives and officers worked alongside local law enforcement agencies and federal partners in the operation.

APD’s release said the operation was conducted to “address a significant volume of complaints from community members in West Asheville regarding illegal drug use. According to the release, on Dec. 3-4, APD detectives and officers, members of the U.S. Marshals Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Indian Affairs worked together to charge 16 people and make numerous seizures…
