Man steals deputy’s patrol vehicle in South Carolina

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man in South Carolina has been arrested after officials said he stole a Spartanburg County deputy’s patrol vehicle and led deputies on a chase through multiple counties.

According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, at around 9 p.m. Saturday, deputies were called to a QuikTrip on Asheville highway regarding a person experiencing a mental health episode.

At around 9:45 p.m. the person, identified as William Waters, managed to get into to a deputy’s patrol vehicle. The sheriff’s office said deputies attempted to stop Waters from driving away but were unsuccessful…
