Haywood County Sheriff’s Office gifted 2 utility terrain vehicles

HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — The Haywood County Sheriff’s Office had an early Christmas present, thanks to a one of Waynesville’s newest chain restaurants.

The sheriff’s office was recently given two utility terrain vehicles (UTVs), thakns to a grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

The sheriff’s office said it was able to buy a UTV to deputies in situations when they are driving on rough terrain. The sheriff’s office said it would also be used for events — like the Fourth of July event at Lake Junalaska and the county fair – where it’s typically harder to move with a full size-vehicle…
