BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (WLOS) — Black Mountain Brewing owner John Richardson has now heard back from the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal.
In that response, the state says fire district rules apply to the overall size of the deck, not how many separate permits were issued, and that the deck as it’s built today does not meet state fire code.
The state also said the Town of Black Mountain shouldn’t have approved the deck and state law does not allow the fire marshal to sign off on it after the fact.
The brewery says it followed the process it was given and relied on town approvals available at the time…
