BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — The Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office has announced that 2025 was the most productive year for superior court trial activity since the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted trial calendars.
Throughout the year, the district attorney’s office prosecuted 38 jury trials, including several cases involving serious violent felonies.
Among the most notable cases were six murder trials:
- First-degree murder: Danqueris Green (January), Cody Guyton (June), Kevion Edgerton (July), and Nicholas Stephenson (September)
- Second-degree murder: Eric Wilson (May)
- Involuntary manslaughter: Samantha Higgins (March)
