LAKE LURE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – What began as a New Year’s Day tradition for three friends has become an annual event that has brought together hundreds of motorcyclists for over two decades.
Eddie Jolley recalls that he and his two friends would ride up to Lake Lure on their motorcycles every New Year’s Day to grab lunch and celebrate together, as they had nowhere else to go. After his two friends died, Jolley carried on the tradition.
“It’s just something I had to do,” Jolley said. “Every New Year’s I’d ride to Lake Lure. Rain, sleet, sunshine, whatever, it didn’t make any difference; I’d go to Lake Lure.”…
