BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (WLOS) — The Town of Black Mountain unanimously voted to appoint Richard N. Hicks as interim town manager, the town announced in a Jan. 5 press release.
According to the press release, Hicks starts on Jan. 20, which he requested to overlap with the outgoing town manager, Josh Harrold. As News 13 previously reported, Harrold’s last day in office will be Jan. 26.
“Mr. Hicks received high praise and a recommendation from both the League of Municipalities and the North Carolina School of Government. The Town Council expressed confidence that Mr. Hicks’ depth of experience, leadership style, and familiarity with North Carolina municipal government will serve the town well during this interim period,” the release says…
