Man struck twice by cars after first driver left him lying in road, NC cops say

A driver who called 911 after hitting a pedestrian is facing felony charges, after she left the man in the road and he was hit by a second car, according to investigators in western North Carolina.

It happened just before midnight on Saturday, Jan. 3, in Asheville, and the 33-year-old pedestrian died at the scene, Asheville police said in a news release.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2019 Ford Flex was traveling eastbound on I-240 and exiting when it struck a pedestrian, later identified as Daniel Anthony Duryea,” police said in a Jan. 7 news release…
