When Gemelli opened its doors in the fall of 2022, it marked both a continuation and an evolution of a deeply rooted culinary story in Asheville. For chef and owner Anthony Cerrato, the restaurant was a chance to create something new—while still honoring the Italian-American heritage that has shaped his entire career.
Anthony was no stranger to building beloved restaurants. In 2012, he opened Strada Italiano downtown, which remains a local success and a cornerstone of Asheville’s Italian dining scene. Before that, he spent years working in his family’s restaurants and served as Executive Chef at Fiore’s Ristorante Toscana on College Street. By the time Gemelli came along, Anthony had decades of experience—and a clear vision for what this next chapter could be.
