Asheville joins nationwide protests over ICE shooting

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Several hundred people gathered in downtown Asheville on Thursday evening to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement following the fatal shooting of a woman in Minnesota by a federal officer.

The “Stop ICE Terror” protest began around 5 p.m. at Pack Square Park before marching through parts of downtown.

Protesters cited the Jan. 7 killing of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old Minneapolis resident who was shot multiple times by a federal officer while sitting in her vehicle.
