MADISON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Three people were arrested after a Facebook Marketplace sale ended in an armed robbery, according to law enforcement officials.
In the early hours of Sunday, Jan. 11, a man reported an armed robbery to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, who had listed a firearm for sale on Facebook Marketplace, arranged to meet a prospective buyer from Tennessee in Hot Springs, according to the sheriff’s office. According to Facebook’s commerce policies, “the purchase, sale or trade of firearms, ammunition and explosives between private individuals isn’t allowed on Facebook.”…
