WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Marshall and Swannanoa residents drove to two locations Tuesday where Rep. Chuck Edwards’ congressional mobile office made stops for community input.
Dan Fogle, who has spearheaded an ongoing 16-month effort to press the U.S. Postal Service to reopen the post office in Swannanoa, came to Weaverville to speak with Edwards’ staff.
“We have learned that our situation in Swannanoa, our post office being closed, is something numerous post offices have experienced across the U.S.,” said Fogle. “It’s called suspension of service, and some offices across the U.S. have stayed closed [for] 17 and 18 years.”…
