ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A Walgreens store in Asheville that was forced to close for over a year due to Hurricane Helene damage will officially reopen its doors next week.
When Hurricane Helene hit western North Carolina in September 2024, it devastated a number of areas close to the Swannanoa River in Asheville, including the Walgreens on South Tunnel Road. Since the storm hit, the building has been boarded up with many locals left wondering what the future holds for the drugstore.
