30 grams of meth found during traffic stop in McDowell Co.

MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) — Two Western North Carolina men were charged with multiple drug offenses following a traffic stop.

On Jan. 18, the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office initiated the vehicle stop on Parker Padgett Road due to traffic violations. 66-year-old Lawrence Glenn Pennington, Jr., was reportedly driving without a license and 53-year-old Joseph Andrew Franklin was a passenger.

A search of the vehicle conducted after a positive alert from the MCSO K9 unit revealed more than 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia…
