HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A captain with the Hendersonville Police Department has issued a 24-page public statement after he was fired following allegations of “misuse of off-duty employment.”
On Feb. 5, 2026, Hendersonville city council officials announced Captain Kenneth Hipps was terminated from his position in January. This came after an internal investigation found that between 2023 and 2026, Hipps clocked in hours at a private company for extra duty, while simultaneously working his regular hours with the police department, city officials said.
