After four years of steady enrollment numbers, UNC Asheville’s psychology department has seen a 37% spike in declared majors this year, with 255 students choosing the field.
Mark Harvey, chair of the psychology department at UNCA, says the reason for the sudden change isn’t as clear as the change itself.
“I would have to survey all the majors directly,” he said. “I’ve been looking at the numbers myself and wondering what is going on.”…
