The region’s next winter storm could bring heavy snow to the higher elevations of western North Carolina.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning beginning at midnight until 12:00 a.m. Tuesday for all of Avery County and locations above 3500 feet in Mitchell County.
Parts of the warning area could get up to ten inches of snow through Monday.
