HENDERSONVILLE – Public health and safety rose to the top of discussion on the future of the city of Hendersonville’s policy and enforcement at a Feb. 27 retreat for council and staff at the Hendersonville Police Department.
They discussed the benefits of having added a social worker to the Police Department and how to reduce traffic accidents, tangling with the tradeoffs involved in setting policy for things like building code enforcement and addressing homelessness in the city.
They plan to emerge from the three-day retreat with a “blueprint” for a strategic plan, setting the city’s course for the next three years…
