Asheville Regional Airport reports 2nd-highest travel year in its history

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Despite the challenges of ongoing construction for renovations at Asheville Regional Airport throughout last year, the airport reports that 2025 saw the second-most number of travelers in the airport’s history.

According to a March 4 news release, the airport announced it served 2,240,877 passengers in 2025. That total is second only the airport’s 2023 total, which was 2,246,211 passengers.

“Reaching 2.24 million passengers in 2025 in the wake of unexpected impacts and major construction is a tremendous accomplishment,” said Lew Bleiweis, President & CEO of the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority, in the release. “The region has moved forward with resilience and so has its airport. This performance reflects the strength of our community’s support, the confidence of our airline partners, and the region’s continued appeal as both a destination and a place to live and work.”…
