HENDERSONVILLE – The Hendersonville nonprofit Safelight got a substantial grant Feb. 27 to staff a nearly completed expansion to its domestic violence shelter, Safelight CEO Lauren Wilkie told the Times-News March 5.
$40,000 from the organization Sisters of Mercy will cover the wages for a new part-time employee and part of an existing employee’s pay, with the goal of having two staff members on every shift at the shelter, including overnight, she said.
