NORTH CAROLINA — Winter made an unexpected comeback across the North Carolina mountains on St. Patrick’s Day, as fresh snowfall blanketed higher elevations and brought wintry scenes back to the region.
Residents in parts of western North Carolina woke up to snow-covered landscapes, with reports confirming several inches of accumulation in Beech Mountain and lighter snowfall in surrounding areas.
Beech Mountain Sees Several Inches of Snow
The most significant snowfall was reported in Beech Mountain, where multiple inches accumulated overnight, coating homes, decks, and outdoor surfaces in a thick layer of snow.
