MILLS RIVER, N.C. (WLOS) — MANNA FoodBank marked a major milestone in its Hurricane Helene recovery with the opening of a new freezer and cooler facility at the organization’s headquarters in Mills River. The local nonprofit held a private ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, March 20.
This new addition comes almost 18 months after floodwaters destroyed the organization’s previous headquarters. For 500 days, MANNA FoodBank relied on refrigerated trucks to keep food cold.
