Southeastern Container Expands Buncombe County Headquarters and Manufacturing Operations

Southeastern Container (SEC), a leading manufacturer in the beverage packaging industry, has announced a $31 million investment to expand and modernize its headquarters and manufacturing operations in Buncombe County, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to Western North Carolina.

The expansion, announced in partnership with the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County, will fund facility upgrades, new technology, and advanced equipment at SEC’s Enka-Candler campus. The project is expected to increase production capacity—particularly in closure manufacturing—while supporting continued innovation and operational efficiency.

Driven by growing national demand, the investment will create 12 new high-tech manufacturing jobs over the next 18 months, with average wages of approximately $32.90 per hour. In addition, the project will help sustain more than 150 existing jobs at the company’s headquarters…
