BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – Reems Creek Fire Chief and Buncombe County Emergency Services Assistant Supervisor Chris Dorsey was returned home Wednesday after his sudden passing.
On Tuesday, March 24, Chief Dorsey passed away unexpectedly. Dorsey had worked at Buncombe County Emergency Services for 11 years as assistant supervisor and paramedic. Dorsey had also served at the Woodfin Fire Department, Weaverville Fire Department, and the NC Urban Search and Rescue Task Force of Buncombe County.
The procession traveled along Interstate 40 from Winstom-Salem to Buncombe County. Members of the Swannanoa Fire Department and Fairview Volunteer Fire Department attended the procession.
