NORTH CAROLINA (WSPA) — Crews continued efforts to contain wildfires burning in parts of western North Carolina on Friday.

The fires are burning in Mitchell, Swain, Haywood, and Rutherford counties.
Poplar Fire
Since Monday, the fire burning in the Pisgah National Forest has burned 350 acres. The fire is located along N.C. 197, about a mile north of Poplar in the Appalachian Ranger District.
The blaze is 80% contained, officials said, a 20% increase from Thursday.
