OLD FORT, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said a woman has been charged after kids in her home tested positive for drugs.
Officials said in early February, a detective received a referral from the McDowell County Department of Social Services involving 31-year-old Avorie West and two children who lived with her. The kids are four and one years old.
During the investigation, it was determined that West had used marijuana and meth while the children were present.
