3 injured in crash involving Asheville fire truck, investigation underway

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A crash involving an Asheville Fire Department truck responding to an emergency call left three people injured Wednesday afternoon, police confirmed.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on April 8, officers with the Asheville Police Department responded to Patton Avenue for a two-vehicle collision with injuries. The crash involved a City of Asheville fire truck and another vehicle, according to police officials.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Patton Avenue and Otis Street while the fire truck was headed to an emergency call for service. Authorities confirmed the eastbound lanes of Patton Avenue were shut down for approximately two hours…
