WNC man charged after drugs found in stolen vehicle, deputies say

MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) — A man is facing charges related to a stolen vehicle and drug possession following a traffic stop on April 7.

The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said 39-year-old Daniel Ted Stewart, of Old Fort, has been charged with:

  • Felony larceny of a motor vehicle
  • Misdemeanor simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance
  • Misdemeanor possession of marijuana
  • Misdemeanor second-degree trespassing

He was issued a $20,000 secured bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
