Wind advisory issued for parts of western North Carolina

MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – Officials with McDowell County Emergency Management have issued a wind advisory for Sunday.

The advisory will be in effect for areas above 3500 feet from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Officials said winds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph with gusts reaching up to 50 mph. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages could happen as a result…
