6 arrested after record-breaking fentanyl seizure in Buncombe Co., deputies say

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said a multi-agency operation has led to six arrests along with a record-breaking fentanyl seizure.

Deputies report three search warrants were executed at Buncombe County residences as part of an operation to dismantle a large-scale drug trafficking operation after a years-long investigation.

The search warrants were issued on Roper Street in Candler and Mardell Circle and Dartmouth Street in Asheville. According to deputies, a record-breaking 6.22 pounds of fentanyl was seized along with the following:

  • 2.03 lbs of cocaine
  • 125.3 grams of methamphetamine
  • .97 lbs of marijuana
  • 30 grams of ecstasy
  • (1) Handgun
  • $20,711 dollars of US currency
  • Miscellaneous items of drug paraphernalia

Deputies report the following people are facing charges:

  • Henry Moreland
  • Trafficking in fentanyl level III (Possession) – Trafficking in cocaine level III (Possession)
  • Trafficking in methamphetamine Level III (Possession)
  • Maintaining a dwelling for sell of controlled substance
  • Possession with intent to manufacture sell deliver MDMA
  • Money laundering – Possession of schedule II
  • Kissy Michele Mills
  • Money laundering
  • Sierra Astrid Blalock
  • Conspire to traffic fentanyl
  • Conspire to traffic cocaine
  • Conspire to traffic methamphetamine
  • Dakota Salene Gearin
  • Conspire to traffic fentanyl
  • Conspire to traffic cocaine
  • Conspire to traffic methamphetamine
  • Brian Moreland
  • Maintaining a dwelling for sell of controlled substance
  • Trafficking in fentanyl
  • Kristy Rae Wilson
  • Maintaining a dwelling for sell of controlled substance
  • Trafficking in fentanyl

Members of the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Illegal Gun Reduction and Narcotics Task Force (IGRANT), Buncombe County SRT, and BCSO Animal Crimes along with members of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI), Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Asheville Police Department (APD) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) worked together as part of the operation, deputies said…
