HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Hendersonville man has crossed the country without a car, without a plane, and without walls or windows — soaring instead through open sky in what looks more like a lawn chair with a fan.
Mark Huneycutt, a former military airman turned paramotorist, recently completed a cross‑country journey using a paramotor — a lightweight aircraft made up of a parachute‑like wing, a motor, and an open seat suspended beneath it.
“It’s just something that’s been really enjoyable to me,” Huneycutt said.
Pilots take a running start before lifting off, feet dangling once airborne, cruising at about 30 miles per hour. There’s no enclosure — just a front‑row seat to the landscape below…
