BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Buncombe County saw a sharp jump in property reassessment appeals as the deadline to file expired on Tuesday, May 5.
As of the 1 p.m. Tuesday deadline, approximately 14,800 appeals were filed in Buncombe County, officials reported. This is an increase of around 1,300 appeals between Monday and Tuesday.
Buncombe County property owners who filed an appeal now have 30 days from their filing date to upload, attach or send in additional information that helps make their case to assessors. It will take staff 30 to 60 days to review most appeals…
