ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — State Sen. Josh McLaurin, the first candidate from either party to announce a bid for Georgia lieutenant governor, picked up the endorsements of the state’s two U.S. senators this week.
On Tuesday, McLaurin announced the endorsement of Sen. Jon Ossoff, who is facing a tough reelection campaign himself this year. On Monday, U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock endorsed McLaurin.
McLaurin, a Democratic state senator from Sandy Springs, is facing former senator Nabilah Parkes in the June 16 runoff. The winner will face either state Sen. Greg Dolezal or former state senator John Kennedy in November in a campaign to elect a new lieutenant governor…
