Man charged after AR-15 round fired into wall of occupied Smyrna apartment

Marques Vincent, 20, of Hiram, is accused of firing a shot from an AR-15 rifle on June 7 at 1 a.m. at an apartment at 1111 Cumberland Glen Lane SE in Smyrna, in the Elevate Twenty Three Smyrna apartment complex, according to an arrest warrant from the Smyrna Police Department.

When the firearm discharged it was pointed at the connecting wall of the adjacent apartment, which was occupied by a woman. At the time of the incident, Vincent did not check on the welfare of the occupants of the apartment nor did he notify police, according to the warrant.

Vincent is charged with reckless conduct. He was arrested on June 7 at 11:17 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
