Alpharetta approves jail housing agreements with 2 other cities

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — The Alpharetta City Council approved agreements with two cities to offset the cost of operating its newly opened jail June 15.

Council members approved agreements with Sandy Springs and Milton, allowing both cities to house arrested people at the Alpharetta Detention Center. The agreements, which begin July 1, will charge both cities a fee of $165 per inmate per day.
