Police: Acworth man hit 114 mph, turned off lights during I-75 pursuit

Samori Nicholas Mugabe Williams, 21, of Acworth, is accused of leading police on a 114 mph chase after an attempted traffic stop in a blue Hyundai Accent on June 10 at 11:38 p.m. at the intersection of I-75 and the Canton Connector, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

The maximum speed limit is 65 mph. Police began pacing Williams at over 100 mph. While pacing Williams, he conducted several rapid lane changes on I-75 Southbound. Williams also turned off all of the car’s exterior lights. An open bottle of Bacardi Lime was found on his passenger side floorboard and an open shot bottle of Fireball inside the driver’s side door, according to the warrant.

Williams is charged with driving – fleeing/attempting to elude; driving – speeding; reckless driving; driving – open container; and driving – headlights required. He was arrested on June 10 at 11:40 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
