Three individuals, 2 from Miami, sentenced to prison after conviction of mail theft in Augusta

GEORGIA (WJBF) – Three people have been sentenced to federal prison after being convicted for mail theft in Augusta.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice Southern District of Georgia, Joshua Mister Holmes, 21, of Miami, Florida, and Coleshia Carter, 22, of East Point, Georgia, were sentenced after pleading guilty to Theft of Mail, Bank Fraud, and Aggravated Identity Theft while Torrance Urban Miller, 49, of Miami, Florida was sentenced after pleading guilty to Theft of Mail.

According to the court documents and testimonies, Holmes, Carter, and Miller took part in a mail theft scheme in which they would steal mail from the Augusta area U.S. postal receptacles looking for business checks from January 2023 to January 2024…
