ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A driver accidentally slammed his car into the side of a DeKalb County grocery store on Thursday afternoon.
The incident happened in the parking lot of the Lidl on Memorial Drive. The driver told Atlanta News First he was trying to let someone into a parking space and hit a concrete light pole while in reverse.
“I put the car in drive and immediately shot forward. Tried slamming on the brakes. Nothing,” he said. “They were smoking hot. I could smell the intensity of the metal on metal. And then it just jumped the curb, hit the building here.”…
