78-year-old Georgia woman overdoses on fentanyl after alleged prescription mix-up at Publix pharmacy

DECATUR, Ga. — Betty Thomas, 78, said she unknowingly used fentanyl patches for nearly three weeks after a Publix pharmacist in Decatur, Georgia, allegedly gave her another customer’s prescription instead of her own.

As the days went on, Thomas said, she became increasingly ill.
