DECATUR, Ga. – Criminal charges against a 44-year-old man accused of shooting and injuring another man inside the Decatur branch of the DeKalb County Public Library have been dismissed after a judge ruled that he acted in self-defense.
Medicus Brown had been indicted on charges of Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony in connection with the February 2, 2026, shooting.
