A 22.5-acre stretch along Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in Atlanta’s Grove Park neighborhood—land Microsoft bought as part of the larger Quarry Yards site in 2021—is now in the hands of the city, and leaders say they want it to support affordable housing and neighborhood resources.
According to the city’s press release, Microsoft transferred the parcel—roughly one-quarter of the total Quarry Yards property—to the Atlanta Urban Development Corporation (AUD) in November 2025. AUD is a nonprofit subsidiary of the Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta, and its mission is to turn publicly controlled land into mixed-income communities with lasting affordability protections.
