Atlanta, Georgia – Georgia entered the new fiscal year with a much bigger investment pipeline than it had just 12 months earlier. During Fiscal Year 2026, projects supported by the state reached roughly $35.2 billion, setting another record for economic development investment.
The number is only part of the story. Most of the activity came from companies already operating in Georgia, while three-quarters of expansions and new locations occurred outside the 10-county metro Atlanta region.
From July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Global Commerce team supported 436 expansions and new business locations. Those projects are expected to create about 25,300 private-sector jobs in the coming years…
