MARIETTA — Just over 24 hours before he is scheduled to be executed by the state, convicted double-murderer Stacey Humphreys is arguing a law passed in 2025 makes him eligible for a reduced sentence.
Humphreys’ legal team argued that abuse he suffered as a child was a “significant contributing factor” to his crimes and that he is eligible for a reduced sentence under the Georgia Survivor Justice Act.
