Gridlock Guy: College duo’s MARTA-Guinness attempt was about more than a record

ATLANTA — When students cannot legally order a Guinness at the local watering hole, they try another route. College sophomores Andrew Zhang and Ayush Maini hopped on the Red Line from the North Springs Station on Friday, August 14th, just after 9 a.m. to attempt a Guinness World Record set eight months earlier.

But their motives were also to raise awareness for public transit.

Maini and Zhang looked to take all four MARTA lines to all 38 rail stations in less than the three hours, 27 minutes, and 41 seconds that a Chicago trio needed to officially set the Guinness World Record in early January.
